Apple announces the winners of the App Store awards and the most popular games for 2021

Apple has announced the winners of the App Store Awards for 2021, as well as the most popular apps in the digital marketplace this year. Apple's global App Store editorial team chose the award winners "for providing excellent quality, innovative technology, artistic design, and positive cultural effect."

League of Legends: Wild Rift was named iPhone Game of the Year, Marvel Future Revolution was named iPad Game of the Year, and Fantasian was named Apple Arcade Game of the Year.

In terms of the most popular App Store titles this year, Geometry Dash was the most downloaded free iOS game, while Minecraft was the most popular paid iOS game in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

Winner of the Arcade Award Fantasian was absent from lists of the subscription service's most popular titles, which were led by Sonic Racing in the United Kingdom and The Oregon Trail in the United States.
