The Langone Medical Centre, on the east side of Manhattan, with a view of the East River, houses the NYU School of Medicine. For those NYU medical students who wish to learn more about the subject, there is the School of Medicine Honors Program, which requires a thesis and at least 18 weeks of authorised scientific study. The International Health Program, which allows NYU School of Medicine students to travel overseas and participate in research, public health campaigns, or clinical education programmes, is another academic opportunity.
